This session focuses on finding a footing for social justice in nursing education. Three papers will be presented: the first will present a historical review of the tensions between acute care nurisng and public health nursing; the second will present how the changes in nursing education have affected the balance of social justice; and the third will discuss the effect of the DNP degree on graduate public health nursing education.
Session Objectives: 1. Describe the historical tension between acute care nursing and public health nursing. 2. Identify how changes in nursing education has affected the balance of justice, 3. Describe how the DNP has effected graduate public health nursing.
