3318.0 Addressing Health Disparities with Our Scientific Tools

Monday, October 29, 2012: 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Oral
Currently, some epidemiological and statistical tools are not widely used or not used completely in describing the epidemiology of health disparities, effective prevention and control interventions for eliminating health disparities and achieving health equity and ongoing program impact. To address health disparities effectively may require the use of all available scientific tools, use of some tools more carefully, and the identification of new tools.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss key epidemiological and statistical tools for advancing the science of health disparities and achievement of health equity. 2. Describe best approaches for encouraging widespread use of several scientific tools
