4346.0 PHN Certification: Strategies for Preparation and Overcoming the Challenges

A recent study by ACHNE uncovered the lack of study guides and exam preparation courses as a deterrent to taking the Advance Public Health Nurse (APHN) exam. Dr. Lisa Campbell will introduce the web-based study guide,and discuss how to register for the exam. While Michelle Cravitz will review exam preparation techniques and lead participants through exercises designed to assist in the recall of important theories and models. This session is recommended for those masters-prepared nurses who are considering taking the APHN certifying exam. This is a hands-on session that focuses on personal preparation for the ANCC Advance Public Health Nurse (APHN) examination. A study guide will be provided to all registrants.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, the learner will be able to: - List strategies to prepare for the ANCC Advance Public Health Nurse examination; - Design a personal schedule for exam preparation; - Demonstrate use of the Study Guide for exam preparation; - Locate resources for exam preparation on the web; and - Register for the APHN exam.
