309.0 Business Meeting II

Tuesday, October 30, 2012: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Business Meeting
Board members from the Student Assembly will form a panel and describe their position, the work they conduct within Student Assembly, their accomplishments as board members, future projects, and how students can get involved in their committee. This will be an opportunity for students already involved in committees to meet each other and the board members, as well as students who are interested in getting involved can learn how to get involved and ask questions. Currently, with the large number of student members, it is easy to feel lost and be unsure how to become more involved in APHA. This meeting will help bridge this gap. Furthermore, with more student involvement in the committees, the Student Assembly will be able to accomplish projects more effectively and efficiently. A similar event was held at last year's Annual Meeting and it was extremely successful by creating dialogue between the student body and Student Assembly board members and recruiting students to serve on different committees.
Session Objectives: Explain how students can get involved in Student Assembly. Name different leadership positions students can apply for within the Student Assembly.
