Hurricane Ike devastated the upper Texas Gulf Coast making a direct hit near Galveston Island, Texas, in fall, 2008. Flooding from a surge tide displaced thousands and destroyed the safety net. This presentation will describe the steps taken to assist all qualified agencies to complete the RFP application, establish and coordinate lead agencies and complete $35 million dollars in recovery in eighteen months.
