Health promotion via various social media channels

Saturday, November 2, 2013 : 3:45 p.m. - 4:20 p.m.

Susana Leong, EdD, University of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
After producing a video, it is very important to find a place for the video to live. Since the video is uploaded to YouTube, the video essentially lives there. YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter, and WordPress are all widely used social media platforms. The final video products are uploaded to YouTube, but they are promoted through platforms such as FaceBook, Twitter, and WordPress. The unique nature of each venue is the key to reaching a wider audience.

It is important to create a brand for your work. Ideally, your brand will be your user name for YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter, and WordPress as long as the user name is available. It literally only take minutes to sign up and be a part of the social media community.
