Indian spiritual traditions and sacred sites: Implications for successful collaboration, outreach and improved policy

During this presentation, we will highlight best and promising practices and relationships to enhance Tribal capacity and increase economic development in Indian Country(Oglala Sioux Tribe); highlight successful Tribal engagement and collaboration efforts, framed from the Tribal perspective; describe Pine Ridge, South Dakota's Solar Panel Tribal Project, noting opportunities for economic development, renewable energy and sustainable housing; showcase collaborative efforts such as the Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation; and discuss the critical legislative concepts of self-determination and sovereignty.
