Improving Reproductive Health at Binational Level, Sonora-Arizona Cooperation

Teen Pregnancy is a public health priority in the United States-Mexico Border. High rates of teen parenthood, school dropout, violence, bullying, clinical health problems, increasing levels of poverty and major socioeconomic problems. Secretaries of Health of Arizona and Sonora, and the COBINAS (Bi-national Health Councils) are reviewing their different interventions in order to control this issue with technical support of UNFPA and PAHO. Analyze the different perspectives and approaches, organizations involved, lessons learned and next steps. Propose new and original interventions that have worked mainly in the border, as well as main difficulties in the implementation of bi-national strategies.
