The recently-released 2011-2012 National Survey of Children's Health provides both nationally and state-representative data on children with special health care needs (CSHCN). This presentation will highlight systems of care issues for this population, such as underinsurance, quality, and access. Data will be presented for both the US population of children and by state, where appropriate.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Dr. Kogan directs the Office of Epidemiology at the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. He has published over 100 articles and book chapters on various topics in perinatal and pediatric epidemiology. He has been on the editorial boards of the Maternal and Child Health Journal and AJPH. He has been a special editor for Pediatrics and MCHJ. He has held adjunct faculty appointments at various universities. He has a doctorate in epidemiology from Yale.
