HAI Reduction in Safety Net Hospitals: One HEN’s Perspective

The Essential Hospital Engagement Network (EHEN), one of the 26 hospital engagement networks supported through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Partnership for Patients, will share its approach to reducing infections in its network of 22 safety net hospitals and the challenges and successes of the first 18 months of the project. The presentation will touch on the unique challenges for hospitals serving vulnerable populations as well as the importance of coordination with other existing efforts addressing infection reduction.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the director of the Essential Hospitals Engagement Network with responsibility for the management and oversight of the project, providing leadership and strategic direction to team members and participating hospitals. She has worked at the national and state level as well as in an urban hospital. Previously she served as senior director of education and outreach at the National Quality Forum. She received her MHSA from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
