Frontiers in Laboratory safety

This session is an opportunity to hear from several practitioners as to the efforts they are making to improve safety practice and to elucidate the challenges in promoting and implementing safety in academic laboratories that investigate a wide variety of topics and describe strategies to deal with these challenges.
Session Objectives: Define safety culture. Discuss its application and implications for safety practice in laboratory settings. Identify challenges and strategies for dealing with laboratory hazards including biosafety, chemical safety and physical safety.
