This session combines research and practice perspectives impacting the mental health of children, youth, and families. This session addresses the Medicaid Home and Community Based Services Waiver, impact of autism on maternal mental health, family dynamics in military families facing reintegration and the psychodynamics of bullying behavior.
Session Objectives: Identify the service components associated with time to psychiatric hospitalization post discharge from Home and Community Based Medicaid Waiver services (HCBS). Describe gaps in the research analyzing interventions to support the mental health of mothers of children with autism and military parent mental health, parenting stress and child functioning. Describe the research of documenting the effects of having a child with autism on maternal mental health.
