Assessment of surgeons' work environment: Evidence from Kyrgyzstan

This article presents and discusses findings of assessment of work severity of 30 surgeons working in the City Hospital N1 in Bishkek. The study found significant exposure to occupational hazards in surgeons' work, and classifies the occupation conditions as Hazardous (Class 3) 2nd Degree. Working in these conditions can result in mild to moderate occupational diseases and increased incidence of associated chronic diseases.
