What does an editor look for in a paper, tips on writing, and how to get started

This part of the course will focus on the following topics: What an editor looks for in a submission; tips on writing a scientific paper; and how to get started. Under the first topic of this section, Dr. Petersen will cover study design, presentation, and fatal flaws. For tips on writing a scientific paper, Dr. Petersen will go over accuracy, brevity, clarity, words to avoid. For the final topic, we will do an exercise on ways in which the class finds the best ways to write.
