This project focuses on the accomplishment of the human genome sequencing project and the various innovative careers which have been derived from genomics. In the G-8 nations, the numerous medical and public health disciplines which have been developed from genomics related interventions are directed to maximizing public health and minimizing public harm. In the age of genomic science, numerous innovative careers and the responsibilities of the new scientists will evolve in microbial genomics, genomic epidemiology, nutritional scientists focusing on phyto-chemical nutrients, bio-processors, and the new generation of bioinformatics scientists and molecular biologist (sequencers) In the G-8 nations before accomplishing HGS the technological resources had been developed, the scientific workforce existed to work collaboratively with numerous biotechnological companies, therefore, the added commercial and public benefits will out space the cost of introducing genomics to the developing and the least-developing nations. This project has identified potential career path for public health in the industrialized nations, compared potential careers in public health in the developing nations and outlined the relevance of innovative revision of curriculum for training public health scientists worldwide. Suggestions were advanced to sequence and integrate genomic technology in the curriculum of public health scientists in developing nations. Innovations from genomics should be integrated not only into preventive but also curative medical care of patients in worlwidw. The implications of applying genomics to solve the health problems associated with the leading causes of death in the developed and developing nations were discussed
