This documentary is an intimate portrait of how two NYC youth get access to alcohol, why they drink, and the potential consequences. Taking the spotlight off the individual consumer, this documentary explores how the drinking culture and oversaturation of alcohol ads in the Lower East Side and Upper East Side influence young people from these neighborhoods. The documentary gives audience members (youth, community members, key stakeholders and informants working in diverse fields) a look at the impact and accessibility of alcohol in the community through: 1) revealing results from producer-driven environmental scans that assessed the number of alcohol promotions present in a distinct-block radius; 2) showcasing the perspectives of community members and key informants through formal interviews and street interviews; 3) highlighting the experiences of two youth producers by letting them share their personal narratives; 4) providing access to larger youth-dialogue on alcohol marketing and promotion tactics.
