Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I serve as co-PI of CHEIR, which is testing the impact of four storytelling-based interventions on outcomes that include weight loss, hypertension control and Latina mother-child sexual health communication. My research focuses on improving health equity through understanding root causes of health disparities and developing culturally- and literacy-sensitive interventions for health behavior change. My previous work on narrative-based interventions includes three studies of diabetes prevention and management in the Latino community (print and novella-style narratives).
