Define the unique ethical, logistical, and educational challenges of pre-health students taking part in global health opportunities; Describe the tangible and intangible 'infrastructure' necessary to clarify the role of pre-health students at learners in international settings.; Identify existing peer-reviewed standards for pre-health students and current best practices; Identify opportunities to collaborate between public health, medical education, study abroad, and other stakeholders; Discuss next steps for appropriate adaptation of competencies for pre-health learners.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Assistant Director with the Health Careers Center at the University of Minnesota and an instructor in the Public Health Practice. Tricia teaches Global Health Challenges for Future Health Professionals, and is involved in developing study-abroad opportunities for pre-med and pre-public health students. Tricia led the development of the online training tool “Global Ambassadors for Patient Safety”. This tool outlines ethical and professional responsibility of pre-health students when participating in a learning abroad experience.
