Hands-on practice: Producing the video

Once the individual interviews are completed, participants will work in small groups to review the footage and select clips based on a formal rating process that will be described. These smaller selections, Story Units, will help to have a targeted portrayal of the stories based on the selected topics of the intervention. The session will end with Instructors presenting selected story units from previous CHIER research studies to discuss the relevance of the content for the effectiveness of the study or intervention. The Instructors will provide a laptop and video editing software for participants to gain experience with the editing process.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I was trained as a film maker in 1995. I have been a creative contributor on six federally and privately funded story telling interventions since 2005. I use my undergraduate psychology training with my graduate degree in art and training in graphical user interface design to create the most appropriate storytelling package.
