Finding evidence

It is appropriate for participants who have basic knowledge of evidence-based interventions and want training to locate resources for evidence-based strategies or programs. This session follows learning from the previous session, defining evidence and includes exercises that provide hands-on applications for finding and selecting an evidence-based chronic disease program. This content addresses challenges with using evidence-based strategies, interventions and policies to improve delivery, acceptance, and effectiveness of chronic disease prevention and control programming. The content focuses on how to use evidence-based recommendations and findings and identifies resources to find effective strategies, programs, and policies.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: In my role as Project Coordinator of the NCI and CDC-funded Cancer Prevention & Control Research Network site at Washington University in St. Louis, I've been responsible for establishing partnerships and working collaboratively with community and public health organizations to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that increase cancer awareness among medically underserved populations, and developing and delivering evidence-based training for community organizations.I have been working in the field of chronic disease prevention since 2004.
