Interactive panel of MA youth present successful cases - roxbury environmental empowerment project

An interactive panel of four young people who are experienced in youth-involved policy change efforts will describe their work. The youth experts will share their policy change goals, the impetus for the campaign, actions taken to advance the campaign, collaboration opportunities for public health professionals, outcomes and lessons learned. The majority of this time will be spent answering questions from participants and discussing best practices.

Learning Objectives:
Discuss campaign design and strategies of a policy change campaign that engages youth. Describe effective policy change campaigns that engaged youth.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the Program Director for the Roxbury Environmental Empowerment Project (REEP), a youth-led community organizing program that for 18 years has built youth power for environmental justice in Roxbury, Dorchester and across the City of Boston. I train and support REEP youth to organize and win local and regional policy change, including air quality standards, land-use for urban farming, and protection of public transportation access for youth riders in low-income, communities of color.”
