Background: North Sulawesi, Indonesia has limited access to primary health care. As a result, the people in this region experience a multitude of adverse health outcomes, many of which are easily preventable or treatable. Learn To Live, a small non-profit organization works in four villages in North Sulawesi and provides mobile health clinics, water education and public health programs. Through these programs, Learn To Live seeks to promote healthy living and productive lives through meaningful, sustainable and evidence based practices. Moreover, Learn To Live is passionate about documenting its work. An artist-in-residence accompanies the team on every trip as a means to document the experience and provide an opportunity to artistically engage the world. Description: The contents of this video highlight the health initiative program at Learn to Live. This program provides primary health care and early interventions in four villages of North Sulawesi: Beringin, Sapa, Bunkan and Likupang. The video illustrate the disease burden experienced by children in Likupang. Three specific disease cases are featured: a foot infection, severe malnutrition and an ear infection. These cases represent the typical disease profile seen in the mobile clinics: children with acute and easily preventable conditions that are exacerbated by a lack of healthcare. Conclusion: This video documents the disease burden faced by Children in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Learn To Live is committed to improving the lives of these children and their families. This commitment includes the process of documenting and capturing the Learn To Live experience.
