Junior's first swimming lesson: Water acclimation

Wednesday, November 6, 2013 : 1:06 PM - 1:10 PM

Susana Leong, EdD , University of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Junior avoids going into the water in the beginning of the video. He hides around the swimming pool area and the camera documents his every move. This allows the audience to see how fun – not scary – the swimming area can be. The video introduces children to Junior and all of the toys and safety items available to him at the pool such as floating devices, kickboards, noodles, and rings. In the middle of the video, Junior is no longer afraid anymore and he starts to enjoy his swimming lesson. By the end of the video, Junior is hiding again only because he is tried and ready to go home. He is excited to return to the pool for his next lesson.
