Preparation Process for CEPH Re-accreditation

Learning Objectives:
Identify the benefits of developing and incorporating a competency-based curriculum for CEPH-accredited BS-CHE and MPH programs.
Assess the benefits of using an inclusion-based model for CEPH re-accreditation preparation, implementation, and follow-up procedures.
Compare the value of presented recommendations and examples with current re-accreditation procedures used for their own programs.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the founding director of the Master of Public Health program (instituted in 1991) at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and have been a faculty member since 1974. I’ve been centrally involved in the development/operation of the MPH, MS-CHE, and BS-CHE programs since that time. I’ve served as the chairperson of the national Competencies Update Project, 1998-2006, when national research was conducted to determine the role/responsibilities of health educators in the United States.
