Taking public health action to stop cncd: Lessons from latin america and africa

NCD control programs seem complex and their goals almost unattainable in countries where Malaria, TB and AIDS are still rampant. Even in developed countries, the cost of chronic diseases is risking bankrupting public and private healthcare delivery programs. This presentation will present an approach that simplifies NCD control programs and makes them more effective. The approach is based on lessons from public health programs in Latin America and Africa and makes patient-oriented care a priority. A simple action checklist will be presented for the audience to start applying and adapting the approach to their own situation and occupation.
