Health promotion under occupation

For over 30 years, the Palestinian Medical Relief Society has provided the population of the occupied Palestinian territories with access to primary care, prevention, and rehabilitation services, and has sought to engage Palestinian youth in activities designed to help them channel their experiences under military occupation in creative, nonviolent directions. The response of the Israeli military regime poses constant challenges to this work.

PMRS is a grassroots, community- based Palestinian health organization. It is non-profit, voluntary, and one of the largest health NGOs in Palestine. PMRS’s national health programs emphasize prevention, education, community participation, and empowerment.
