Douglas Conrad has been a member of the faculty in the University of Washington’s Department of Health Services in the School of Public Health since 1977 and currently serves as Professor of Health Services, Adjunct Professor of Business and Economics, Affiliate Investigator of the Group Health Center for Health Studies, and Director of the Center for Health Management Research (CHMR), a National Science Foundation-sponsored Industry-University Cooperative Research Center from 1991 - 2006 -- the only such IUCRC focusing on health services. The Center originated as a consortium of 17 research universities and 11 health systems in North America. From 2006-2010, CHMR was a program of the Health Research and Educational Trust of the American Hospital Association, and now is housed exclusively at the University of Washington.
