Biographical Sketch: Thomas Babor is a Professor and Chairman in the Department of Community Medicine and Health Care, University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He is one of 14 co-authors of the first and second editions of the book, Alcohol: No Ordinary Commodity - Research and Public Policy, which won first prize in the public health category of the 2004 British Medical Association's book competition.
