Biographical Sketch: Dr. SangNam Ahn is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Systems Management and Policy at the University of Memphis School of Public Health. He earned his Master’s Degree in Public Service Administration at Texas A&M University, and received his Doctoral Degree in Health Services Research and post-doctoral fellowship from Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health. He has expertise in identifying social and behavioral determinants of obesity disparities among older adults; translating research findings in policy and programmatic efforts; and analyzing cross-sectional, longitudinal, and survey datasets with appropriate statistical methods. Since 2011, he has published 14 peer review journal articles in prestigious journals including International Journal of Public Health, Maturitas, Journal of Aging and Health, and Journal of Mental Health, having nine more articles under review. In recognition of his contributions to the profession, he has received four American Public Health Association Paper Awards for research excellence. Dr. Ahn has interested in the areas of nutrition, chronic disease self-management, hospice care, and community gardening among older adults.
