Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Marian Levy is Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Public Health program at the University of Memphis. Dr. Levy received her doctorate in public health from UCLA. A registered dietitian, she has conducted several research initiatives to reduce pediatric obesity, increase access to healthcare, and promote health equity. She has served as President of the Tennessee School Health Coalition, Chair of the Tennessee Healthy Weight Network, and is currently President-elect of the Tennessee Public Health Association. As Chair of the Tennessee Healthy Weight Network, she developed state recommendations for reducing pediatric obesity and helped spearhead statewide advocacy efforts to pass Tennessee’s “School Vending Law.”
