Biographical Sketch:
Dawnyéa Jackson is a Graduate Research Assistant for the WE CAN! Colon Cancer program. Dawnyéa is responsible for the program’s media outlets, helping with data collection and analysis, and assisting with community outreach activities. Dawnyéa received her bachelor’s in Family Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Masters in Couple and Family Therapy from University of Maryland, College Park and she is now in the 2nd year of her Ph.D. program in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior at the University of South Carolina. Her research interests broadly center on sexual health, women’s reproductive health and cancer prevention and control. She is dedicated to working with programs like the WE CAN! program because it gets the message out there that colon cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable.
