Biographical Sketch:
Jennifer Zanowiak is the Research Coordinator at the New York University Health Promotion and Prevention Research Center. She oversees a project to prevent diabetes in NYC Korean and South Asian communities, which uses a community health worker (CHW) model. Through a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach, she works closely with the Center's Korean and South Asian partners to raise awareness of diabetes, provide education, and improve access to health care. Ms. Zanowiak has extensive experience with grants management, program development, and interventions involving CBPR approaches among immigrant populations. Ms. Zanowiak received a BA in Metropolitan Studies and Psychology from New York University, and an MA in International Affairs from The New School. While completing her graduate studies, she worked as a consultant on projects in New York City and Mumbai in the areas of public health, HIV/AIDs, and gender equality. She also has experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator for pharmaceutical clinical trials for multiple sclerosis.
