Biographical Sketch:
A medical anthropologist, Dr. Kathleen Ragsdale has over 14 years experience conducting multimethods projects among culturally diverse and economically vulnerable populations in international and domestic settings. Funded by the CDC, NIH, UNIFEM, and USDA, Ragsdale’s research focuses on how sociocultural values and practices and gender/power dynamics shape critical health issues among marginalized groups—with a special emphasis on resource-limited women and children. Her expertise includes development/implementation of culturally informed community-based research, needs assessments, and program evaluation.
