Biographical Sketch:
Wiley is currently holds the rank of Research Assistant Professor with the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and is the Director of Research and Program Development in the department of Family and Community Medicine (FCM). Wiley joined the faculty of FCM in August of 2007 after thirteen years with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Division of Laboratories, where he held such positions as laboratory chemist, supervisor, divisional bioterrorism coordinator and laboratory manager. He earned his MPH in Epidemiology from Tulane University in 2003 and his PhD in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007. Current responsibilities include lecturing students and residents on topics associated with public and population health, assisting family physician residents with different research and scholarly activities, and developing the research base at the department as a whole. Funded research projects involve testing and evaluating different mechanisms of intervention in the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
