Biographical Sketch: Kusuma Madamala,PhD MPH is currently a consultant for ASTHO and other public health organizations and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Community Health Sciences at UIC School of Public Health. Prior to this role, Kusuma was a Senior Scientist at the American Medical Association leading a variety of initiatives to bridge public health and medicine. She has taught public health courses at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. In 2006-2007, she was a member of AcademyHealth’s Public Health Systems and Services Research advisory committee and has been a reviewer for University of Kentucky’s Future of Public Health Systems Research grants. Kusuma has worked in the fields of community health assessment and program evaluation at the Minnesota Department of Health and the University of Minnesota. Kusuma has held leadership positions in the Minnesota Public Health Association, Health Administration Section of APHA, and is the immediate past president of UIC School of Public Health Alumni Association. She is a member of Delta Omega and the recipient of the Alan W. Donaldson Memorial Award.
