Biographical Sketch: Liz received training in medicine and public health at the UC Berkeley – UCSF Joint Medical Program. Her ethnographic Master’s thesis explored the experiences of young adults who had been forcibly separated from their families during El Salvador’s civil war. She then completed pediatrics residency at Stanford. As a UCLA Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar, she is currently investigating resiliency among incarcerated youth as a path towards addressing the epidemic of youth violence.
