Biographical Sketch: Nelson A. Atehortua is currently a Post-doctoral Fellow and Research Scientist with the Program in Personalized Medicine & Targeted Therapeutics. Nelson has a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Western Kentucky University, and a PhD degree from Texas A&M University. Dr. Atehortua’s research interests are in the areas of personalized medicine, genomics, cancer and chronic non-communicable diseases, and how public health and health education are related to genomics and personalized medicine.
