Biographical Sketch: Lucy Popova (PhD, Communication, University of California, Santa Barbara) is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education at the University of California, San Francisco. She is applying her training in communication theory and methodology to the analysis of marketing strategies for novel smokeless tobacco products and development of counter-messages. She taught at the universities in Japan and Kazakhstan and worked in public relations for the American Red Cross.
