Biographical Sketch: Prakash Tyagi is a medical doctor and public health professional. He has been working in rural India for the last 10 years to promote healthcare and to link it with developmental initiatives. He leads an NGO called GRAVIS in India that works for the development of over 1 million people living in India. He has facilitated the setting up of a rural hospital, several small clinics and a cadre of over 500 Village Health Workers. He has presented his experiences in several conferences and has written a number of articles, documents and books on community healthcare.
