Biographical Sketch:
Virginia Rall Chomitz, PhD is a Senior Scientist at the Institute for Community Health (ICH), a Lecturer in Medicine at the Harvard Medical School, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Dr. Chomitz has led community-based healthy weight promotion work for the Institute for Community Health and Cambridge Health Alliance for the last ten years. She has extensive experience developing, implementing, and evaluating large, multidimensional nutrition and physical activity interventions with school children in collaboration with community and school partners. Dr. Chomitz received her doctorate from Tufts University School of Nutrition in Medford, MA, conducting research in Java, Indonesia, investigating relationships among diet, stature and household factors.
