Biographical Sketch: Claire Farel’s research focuses on HIV risk factors among women. In particular, she is interested in vulnerability to HIV infection in high incidence and prevalence domestic settings. Dr. Farel completed clinical training at Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals before moving to North Carolina. She practices clinically in prisons, an urban health department, and at UNC Hospitals. She serves as the medical director of the Wake County Health Department HIV/STI Clinic in Raleigh, NC.
