Biographical Sketch: Margaret Demment received her B.A. from Williams College in Biology and
Environmental Studies and a Ph.D. from Cornell University in Community Nutrition. Her dissertation focused on the underlying social, maternal, and environmental risk factors for the development of overweight and obesity in a rural birth cohort. She is currently a post-doctoral associate at Cornell University conducting research on the perceived food environment and diet in pregnant women in Rochester, NY.
