Biographical Sketch: After receiving her masters in public health, Minal completed a research fellowship in Tobacco control. For the past 7 years, Minal has been focusing her research on cancer prevention and advocacy at UCLA, with an emphasis on tobacco use prevention. She is currently in a doctoral program at UCLA working on how the built environment is related to health behaviors related to cancer prevention. She is also actively involved in community advocacy for tobacco control and serves as the Vice-chair for the LA County Tobacco Free Coalition, which is the largest known coalition in the US for tobacco control advocates.
