Biographical Sketch:
Lori Latowski Grover, OD, FAAO Dr. Lori Grover has specialized in clinical vision impairment and rehabilitation care for over 18 years. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Wilmer Eye Institute, Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center and practices in the Department of Vision Rehabilitation. She is pursuing a PhD in Health Services Research and Policy at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as part of her NEI-funded K award where she is Principle Investigator on the project "A Model Transdisciplinary Health Care Team for Low Vision Rehabilitation”. Dr. Grover has established private and hospital-based practices in several states since graduation from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1990, most recently in Scottsdale and Mesa, AZ where she served as the Director of the Vision Rehabilitation Service at the Foundation for Blind Children in Phoenix. She is Immediate Past Chair of the American Optometric Association Vision Rehabilitation Section (AOA VRS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry where she is a Diplomate Candidate in Public Health. She remains an active consultant for state and local agencies on vision rehabilitation and policy, is a frequent lecturer and an internationally recognized speaker. Her research interests include rehabilitation care and service delivery models and the economics of vision rehabilitation. Dr. Grover shares her time between Baltimore and Scottsdale, AZ where she lives with her husband Mike, and daughter Kate.
