Biographical Sketch:
Jama Shelton is a Ph.D. candidate in Social Welfare at the CUNY Graduate Center. Her dissertation research examines the unique needs and experiences of homeless transgender youth. She is the Coordinator of Research, Evaluation, and Training at the Ali Forney Center (AFC). AFC provides housing and supportive services to LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness. Jama also teaches in the graduate schools of social work at Hunter College and New York University.
