Biographical Sketch: Veronika Wirtz, MSc, PhD is Faculty at the Department for Global Health at Boston University. Over the last decade she has carried out studies on access to and utilization of medicines in Latin America and internationally. From 2004 to 2012 she was researcher and lecturer at the National Institute of Public Health, Mexico. She has worked as a technical advisor for various global organizations, among them the WHO, Global Fund, Gates Foundation and Ford Foundation.
