Biographical Sketch: Dr. Melchreit is the Coordinator of the Healthcare Associated Infections Program in the Connecticut Department of Public Health. He joined the Department in 1986 and has been in his current position since 2008. Previously, he served in the Department’s AIDS Division for 16 years, Family Health Section for two years, and in Bioterrorism Preparedness for five years. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1977 and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1981.
