This session will describe the radical reforms to the English National Health Service introduced by the Coalition Government in 2013. The context of the reforms will be explored, particularly at a time of national and international austerity, increasing demand for health care, health inequalities and finite resources.
Session Objectives: Describe the radical reforms to the NHS in England in 2013 and their potential impact on health.
Identify the global relevance of national and local healthcare reforms.
Discuss health system reform in the context of national and international austerity.
