Wednesday, November 6, 2013: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM

Emerging adult women face a myriad of challenges when considering sexual intentions, behaviors and risk factors. This session will explore how social networks act as a risk and or protective factor for intimate partner violence among homeless youth. Additionally, this session will examine if online escort advertising can serve as a proxy to measure sexual health risk for female escorts or their customers, as well as explore young, college women’s perceptions of control and ability to safely negotiate sex with potential partners.
Session Objectives: Describe the risks faced by women with respect to their sexual health behaviors. Compare gender similarities and differences with respect to sexual decision making. Explain the impact of social networks on sexual health behaviors and intimate partner violence.
