Panel Discussion
The purpose of this session is to provide public health practitioners and clinicians with an understanding of international and global epidemiology public health projects. A gap in epidemiological research in the international setting was identified and this session was developed to provide a forum for scientific exchange of international projects and highlight epidemiology with a global health perspective. APHA conference audience will find this information important because it gives a global perspective to research conducted in international settings. Additionally, the topics in this session fit well with the focus of the 2013 conference - Think Global, Act Local, Best Practices Around the World.
Session Objectives: Describe international issues defined by epidemiological research. Identify important research conducted in Nigeria, along the US/Mexican border and in international airports. Discuss possible implications of research findings in countries in the same region.
